Stupid California voters- again

In November 2016 California voters levied a $2 tax on tobacco. That's $2 a pack. Sounds good, right? The higher the price the less people will smoke, right? Except the much higher tax discriminates against black people. They smoke more and have lower incomes. Thus, a $2 per pack increase adversely affects black people in California more than white people. The tax increase is racist!

In addition, the tax also applies to electronic cigarettes and will make it prohibitively expensive for Californians to switch from the deadly cigarette to the MUCH safer e-cigarette (which contains NO tobacco). Thus, this huge tax increase will not promote a healthier alternative to smoking in California. If anything, this tax is likely to hugely increase the black market for cigarettes in California and encourage medically addicted smokers to break the law in order to feed their addiction. As for the government hysteria over teens using e-cigs, the minimum legal age for buying e-cigs in California in 2017 will be 21. If the government wants to stop teens and pre-teens from vaping, instead of overtaxing/banning e-cig sales to adults, ENFORCE THE LAW.

This huge tax increase on tobacco is a stupid idea, passed by stupid California voters. Yet, these same stupid voters passed another stupid law making marijuana legal for recreational use. That means MANY more people in California will fire up a joint, stink the place up - wherever they are and they will do that EVERYWHERE (even though it is still illegal to smoke pot in public) and drive stoned. What are some of the effects of smoking pot? According to webmd, here are some of the other effects you'll feel:

Trouble thinking and remembering
Bloodshot eyes
Dry mouth (cotton mouth)
Increased appetite (the "munchies")
Fast heart rate
Slowed coordination

Trouble thinking? Slowed coordination? And stoned Californians are legally allowed to pilot a 4,000 pound metal vehicle, even on the freeways at high speed?

Recreational marijuana. Now legal in California. Good law? Good voting? Dumb and dumber.
