"BREAKING NEWS: The United Nations Security Council approved a resolution Friday afternoon demanding an end to Israeli settlements, with the US abstaining from the vote.
Israel slammed the Obama administration on Friday for failing to voice opposition to a draft UN resolution condemning settlement construction.
"President Obama and Secretary Kerry are behind this shameful move against Israel at the UN," a senior Israeli official told CNN. "President Obama could declare his willingness to veto this resolution in an instant but instead is pushing it. This is an abandonment of Israel which breaks decades of US policy of protecting Israel at the UN and undermines the prospects of working with the next administration of advancing peace."
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said: "While the Security Council does nothing to prevent the massacre of half a million people in Syria, it is shamefully singling out Israel — the only democracy in the Middle East,” the PMO said.
“The Obama administration not only failed to defend Israel from this harassment at the UN, it cooperated with it behind the scenes.”
Many members of the UN have always been anti-Israel and anti-semitic. President Obama, for the first time in American history, in one of his last acts before leaving office, directed the U.S. to abandon Israel and abstain from yet another anti-Israel UN resolution and, in doing so, Obama and the Democrats and America put the screws to the Jews. Obama and the liberals in America do not support Israel, the Jewish homeland, though almost all Jews in the U.S. are Democrats and liberals!
Under Obama and the liberals America has not been a friend of Israel and, now, at the United Nations, in plain view of the entire world, the defeated outgoing liberals in Washington went out of their way to show their complete and utter nonsupport of the Jewish homeland, the only democracy in the Middle East.
How can any Jew in America support this U.S. government anti-Israel stance? Where's the outcry from American Jews? Where's the outrage from American Jews? And where's the immediate Jewish American abandonment of the Democratic Party and the switching of Jews to the Republican Party (a longtime friend of Israel) -- or at least to Independent? You want to be a liberal and a Jew in America who supports Israel? With this anti-Israel action by the U.S. government you can no longer be both.
As for the UN itself, the headquarters of The UN is located in a prime location overlooking the East River in Manhattan. The do nothing anti-Israel mostly useless UN. And America funds more than 20% of the total UN budget: more than half-a-billion dollars a year. And, according to cnsnews: "Of the separate peacekeeping budget – $8.27 billion for the year ending June 30 – the U.S. is liable for 28.5783 percent, or $2.363 billion. Combined, the two U.S. contributions amount to just under $3 billion." The U.S. gives $3 billion dollars a year for the third world anti-semitic UN? The United Nations does little or nothing to keep nations united. Who needs it? President Trump should stop funding the UN, saving taxpayers a whopping $3 billion a year, throw the UN out of the United States ... and turn the UN building into a luxury co-op.
UPDATE February 2017 FoxNews: "EXCLUSIVE: In its last year in office, the Obama Administration showered at least some $9.2 billion on the United Nations and its sprawling array of organizations, according to a document recently posted on the State Department website. The overall U.S. bill for international organizations of every stripe is just under $10.5 billion, meaning that U.N. organizations absorb about 88 per cent of such U.S. government spending.
The new tally includes nearly $360 million for the controversial United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, or UNRWA, which is regularly accused of inculcating violent anti-Israel attitudes and even abetting terrorist attacks on Israel, which it strongly denies."
Turns out the amount of UN financial support by the Obama Administration (and U.S. taxpayers) is/was MUCH higher than initially reported. I rest my case.
