Since November 2016, much confidential and classified government information is being leaked to the media, for political reasons. Most/all of the leaked information is anti-Trump. The leaking is against the law yet the political leakers are rarely ever found and/or prosecuted.
There is a simple common sense application to "treasonous" leaking. Here it is. If the classified confidential information is leaked to a liberal media source, the leaker is probably a liberal. The New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC are all way left, extreme liberal news organizations. And detested by conservatives. I cannot imagine a conservative would give secret information to any of the existing and well known liberal news sources. Nearly all of the political anti-Trump leaks (and Fake News) have been revealed via liberal news sources.
Thus, any liberal news media leaks would most likely come from a liberal source in government, a source that has access to the information. The news media is protected by the Constitution and does not have to reveal its sources. This encourages and emboldens political leakers.
Any investigation to find the source of a confidential, classified, or top secret leak should start with the media and work backwards. i.e. A New York Times or Washington Post anti-Trump leak would make it plausible to look for a liberal anti-Trump leaker first. Starting with known, extreme anti-Trump liberals in government. Which liberals had access to the information? Who did THEY tell? Etc. As all communication in the U.S., public and private, is collected and/or surveilled by the government, it should not be that difficult for the U.S. intelligence agencies to track the leak.
And, yes, this IS profiling. The same way the IRS profiled, singled out and mistreated politically conservative nonprofit organizations under the Obama Administration. But I digress. Let's get back to current anti-Trump leakers.
And, after the government finds out who the leaker was, depending on what was leaked, they should put the leaker on trial, for TREASON! No matter who it is.
